What is the Five Five Garage? Excellent question!
It all started on a summer afternoon, picture it: August, 1976…
On second thought, never mind. Let’s start with something more recent. The Five Five Garage is the culmination of a dream created by yours truly. I am Randy, by the way. Nice to meet you all! Allow me the opportunity to talk about myself ( not that I really need an opportunity ). I am 40 years old, and since I was a kid I have loved working on cars and getting my hands dirty. It is a form of therapy that I am sure a lot of you can relate to. I always loved when the car magazines would start a project build that stretched over multiple issues. I know it was a tactic to sell more magazines, but I enjoyed the fact that even though I wasn’t there in person, I could follow along with the build. It was the dream of dreams to one day be a part of one of those magazine builds, something that I could look back over when I was done to see how the process got from A to Z.
Fast forward to modern day, and those magazine builds of yesteryear have now been joined by user created car content on YouTube. Now anyone with a passion and a camera can start their own builds and share them with the world. After many years of watching others live the dream, in 2017, I finally decided to join them myself! So I bought a camera and things began to slowly snowball until all that momentum eventually leads us to this point.
Here we are.
So let me talk a bit about what you as the reader will be seeing on this website. My fleet ( or toys, it really depends on who you talk to ) consists of a 2010 Mazdaspeed 3, a 2008 Honda CBR1000RR, and a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. My primary focus will be tracking the chronological process of my Mazdaspeed 3 build, as I take it from completely stock to flame thrower hot. I have planned on filming YouTube videos of the installation process as well writing some reviews, blogs, and extra information that is not in the videos, here on the site. Occasionally, I might throw in some videos and blogs on my CBR, or anything I think others may be interested in, like car shows, tools, etc…
Maybe even some Trailblazer stuff? That one is like Voldermort though, “The Vehicle That Shall Not Be Named”.
I digress.
So bear with me while I begin the long journey of trying to bring all of this together.
